Once a month on a Thursday, take the time to discover the exhibition Ferdinand Hodler. Profession of Faith during the MIR Late Nights. A guided tour, upon registration, is also available from 5 to 6 pm.
From 25 September 2026 to 24 January 2027, the International Museum of the Reformation presents an unprecedented exhibition dedicated to Ferdinand Hodler. Bringing together around fifty paintings, drawings and documents from some of the most prestigious art collections in Switzerland and Germany, the exhibition offers a fresh interpretation of his work as a modern spiritual quest: from his early religious scenes inspired by Protestantism to his Symbolist compositions, the artist explores the unity between human beings, nature and a universal harmony of forms.
Curated by Niklaus Manuel Güdel, the exhibition sheds light on the inner and contemplative dimension of an œuvre in which nature, the body and rhythm become vehicles for a spiritual experience. A catalogue, along with a programme of lectures, guided tours, and musical and theatrical performances, accompanies the exhibition.
