Inspired by a traditional Japanese tale, Momo, the Peach Child tells the epic journey of a child born from a fruit, rescued from the flowing water by the woman who becomes his mother. But his heritage is marked by a dark secret: a malevolent ogre has sown chaos and emptied the village of its inhabitants.
Determined to unravel this mystery, Momo sets off in search of justice. Along the way, he meets three unlikely companions: a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. Together, they will brave the currents and join forces to challenge the ogre in his castle…
But let us not reveal the ending of this true little opera, accessible from age 6, in which both children and adults will savor the dreamlike quality of the music, sets, and costumes!
This production received the Grand Prix at the International Young Audience Composition Competition organized by the Orchestre Victor Hugo on December 7, 2024.
