Bei den Bewohnern des American Park in Tarbes wohnten der jüdische Künstler polnischer Herkunft Zelman Utkès (1892-1944) und seine Frau Berthe (1897-1944) dreieinhalb Jahre lang in Bigorre, bevor sie von den Deutschen verhaftet und Anfang 1944 nach Auschwitz deportiert wurden, wo sie nicht mehr zurückkehrten...
Zelman Utkès hinterlässt in seiner Wahlstadt dreizehn Gemälde und ein Fotoalbum, über Jahre hinweg von ihren Hausbesitzern und deren Erben sorgfältig aufbewahrt, bevor sie 2024 dem Museum für Deportation und Widerstand anvertraut wurden.
Im Hinblick auf die Wiederherstellung des Gedenkens an die Verschwundenen der Shoah würde diese öffentliche Präsentation der Gemälde von Zelman Utkès auch dazu beitragen, potenzielle Rechteinhaber zu finden, denen die Gemälde zurückgegeben werden könnten.

Staying with the inhabitants of the American Park in Tarbes, the Jewish artist of Polish origin Zelman Utkès (1892-1944) and his wife Berthe (1897-1944) lived in Bigorre for three and a half years, before being arrested by the Germans and deported to Auschwitz at the beginning of 1944, from where they would not return...
Zelman Utkès leaves in his adopted city thirteen paintings and a photographic album, carefully preserved by its landlords and then their heirs for years, before being entrusted to the Museum of Deportation and Resistance in 2024.
With a view to repairing the memory of the disappeared from the Shoah, this presentation to the public of the paintings by Zelman Utkès would also make it possible to find potential beneficiaries, to whom the paintings could be returned.

Alloggiati presso gli abitanti dell'American Park a Tarbes, l'artista ebreo di origine polacca Zelman Utkès (1892-1944) e sua moglie Berthe (1897-1944) vivono in Bigorre per tre anni e mezzo, prima di essere arrestati dai tedeschi e deportati ad Auschwitz all'inizio del 1944, da dove non torneranno...
Zelman Utkès lascia nella sua città d'adozione tredici quadri e un album fotografico, custoditi con cura dai suoi proprietari e poi dai loro eredi per anni, prima di essere affidati al Museo della Deportazione e della Resistenza nel 2024.
Nell'ottica di riparare la memoria dei morti della Shoah, questa presentazione al pubblico delle tele di Zelman Utkès permetterebbe anche di trovare potenziali aventi diritto, ai quali le tele potrebbero essere restituite.

Logés chez des habitants de l’American Park à Tarbes, l’artiste juif d'origine polonaise Zelman Utkès (1892-1944) et son épouse Berthe (1897-1944) vivent en Bigorre durant trois ans et demi, avant d’être arrêtés par les Allemands et déportés à Auschwitz début 1944, d’où ils ne reviendront pas…
Zelman Utkès laisse dans sa ville d’adoption treize tableaux et un album photographique, conservés précieusement par ses logeurs puis leurs héritiers des années durant, avant d’être confiés au Musée de la Déportation et de la Résistance en 2024.
Dans l’optique de réparer la mémoire des disparus de la Shoah, cette présentation au public des toiles de Zelman Utkès permettrait également de retrouver de potentiels ayants-droits, auxquels les toiles pourraient être restituées.

Alojados con los habitantes del American Park en Tarbes, el artista judío de origen polaco Zelman Utkès (1892-1944) y su esposa Berthe (1897-1944) viven en Bigorre durante tres años y medio, antes de ser detenidos por los alemanes y deportados a Auschwitz a principios de 1944, de donde no volverán...
Zelman Utkès deja en su ciudad de adopción trece cuadros y un álbum fotográfico, guardados preciosamente por sus propietarios y luego por sus herederos durante años, antes de ser confiados al Museo de la Deportación y la Resistencia en 2024.
Con el objetivo de reparar la memoria de los desaparecidos del Holocausto, esta presentación al público de las pinturas de Zelman Utkès también permitiría encontrar posibles derechohabientes a quienes podrían ser devueltas las pinturas.
