Tradition reports that an inhabitant of Sainte-Croix bequeathed at his death the sum of 5000 francs for the construction of a chapel placed under the invocation of Saint Joseph. La facciata in granito ocra è ritmata da pietre di tufo utilizzate per l'ambiente delle baie, dei contrafforti e del campanile.
