Am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts gelangte eine neue Mode aus England nach Frankreich und erreichte Bordeaux. Die Anglomanie zog das Großbürgertum und die in der Stadt ansässigen Kaufleute an, darunter auch die Familie Exshaw.
Mit seinen Dachrinnen, Bogenfenstern und Holzvertäfelungen versetzt dieses Herrenhaus Sie in eine entschieden viktorianische Atmosphäre.
