Table ronde organisée par le Musée d'Art Contemporain L'Organe. La Demeure du Chaos/Abode of Chaos
A detailed architectural study, compiled over 18 months, looks at the Abode of Chaos from historical, archaeological, sociological, artistic, architectural and scientific viewpoints, and contains contributions from internationally recognized experts and emeritus professors.
This study and the complete digitization of the Abode of Chaos were conducted by specialists in martyr heritage under the leadership of Nicolas Detry - Heritage Architect and doctor of Architecture - in collaboration with Raphaelle Riviere - Historian & Archaeologist.
The surveys, plans, sections, illustrations and orthophotographs for the complete digitization of the 6,300 artworks integrated into the buildings, outbuildings and surrounding walls, were carried out by Philippe Barthélémy and TT Géomètres Experts Group with its 3D Lab, thus leading to the creation of a highly detailed digital heritage.
Part 1. Location: Geographical, historical and landscape context
Evolution of the site from the Protestant Temple of Saint-Romain-de-Couzon (1630-1685) to the Organe Museum of Contemporary Art and Artprice headquarters.
Part 2. "Formativity": construction of the architectural and artistic work
From the inception of the artistic postulate of 1999, to the creation of the Abode of Chaos encompassing 6,300 artworks, the process involved the use of raw materials, transformation, subtraction and addition, reuse, recovery, and recycling.
Part 3. THE ABODE OF CHAOS: Gesamtkunstwerk & singular architecture
The political dimension of the architectural oeuvre, belonging to a group of sites that enjoy international recognition.
