Die Ausstellung zwingt sie, sie hartnäckig sie tempêtent, vereint die von 2021 bis 2024 durchgeführte Arbeit von Agnès Geoffray im Kontext von Forschungen über die Inhaftierung minderjähriger Mädchen aus dem späten neunzehnten Jahrhundert bis zur Mitte des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts in Frankreich in öffentlichen Institutionen und privat nach einer Gerichtsentscheidung. Mit diesem neuen Korpus entfaltet Agnès Geoffray eine fotografische und textuelle Arbeit, die sich sowohl in Fotoabzügen verschiedener Formate als auch in Diaprojektionen manifestiert. Es handelt sich nicht um dokumentarische Werke, sondern um fotografische Fiktionen, die darauf abzielen, die disqualifizierte Existenz der sogenannten "Gerechtigkeitsmädchen" kritisch und sensibel zu überdenken. In der Ausstellung werden diese Werke im Dialog mit historischen Dokumenten - viele aus den Archiven des gerichtlichen Jugendschutzes - vorgestellt, die die Reden und Darstellungen der eingeschlossenen jungen Mädchen zusammentragen. Die Ausstellung zeigt eine künstlerische und kritische Forschungsarbeit, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Forscherin und Kuratorin Vanessa Desclaux, der Kuratorin der Ausstellung, durchgeführt wird.

The exhibition, elles obliquent elles obstinent elles tempêtent brings together the work carried out from 2021 to 2024 by Agnès Geoffray in the context of research conducted on the confinement of underage girls from the nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century in France in public institutions and private following a court decision. Through this new body of work, Agnès Geoffray deploys a photographic and textual work that materializes both in photo prints of different formats and slide projections. These are not documentary works but photographic fictions aimed at rethinking critically and sensitively the disqualified lives of so-called "justice" girls. In the exhibition, these works will be put into dialogue with historical documents – many of them from the archives of the judicial protection of young people – summing up the speeches and representations of locked-up girls. The exhibition makes manifest an artistic and critical research work, conducted in collaboration with the researcher and curator Vanessa Desclaux, curator of the exhibition.

L'esposizione mette in mostra il lavoro realizzato da Agnès Geoffray dal 2021 al 2024 nel contesto di ricerche condotte sull'incarcerazione delle ragazze minorenni del tardo XIX secolo fino alla metà del XX secolo in Francia presso istituzioni pubbliche e private a seguito di una decisione giudiziaria. Attraverso questo nuovo corpus, Agnès Geoffray sviluppa un lavoro fotografico e testuale che si materializza sia in stampe fotografiche di diversi formati che in proiezioni di diapositive. Non si tratta di opere a vocazione documentaristica, ma di finzioni fotografiche volte a ripensare in modo critico e sensibile le esistenze squalificate delle ragazze dette "di giustizia". Nella mostra, queste opere saranno messe in dialogo con documenti storici - molti provenienti dagli archivi della tutela giudiziaria della gioventù - che convocano i discorsi e le rappresentazioni delle ragazze rinchiuse. L'esposizione mette in evidenza un lavoro di ricerca artistica e critica, condotto in collaborazione con la ricercatrice e curatrice Vanessa Desclaux, commissaria della mostra.

L’exposition elles obliquent elles obstinent elles tempêtent réunit le travail réalisé de 2021 à 2024 par Agnès Geoffray dans le contexte de recherches menées sur l’enfermement des filles mineures de la findu xixème siècle au milieu du xxème siècle en France dans des institutions publiques et privées suite à une décision de justice. À travers ce nouveau corpus, Agnès Geoffray déploie un travail photographique et textuel qui se matérialise à la fois dans des tirages photo de différents formats et des projections diapositives. Il ne s’agit pas d'œuvres à vocation documentaire mais de fictions photographiques visant à repenser de manière critique et sensible les existences disqualifiées des filles dites « de justice ». Dans l’exposition, ces œuvres seront mises en dialogue avec des documents historiques – pour beaucoup issus des archives de la protection judiciaire de la jeunesse –convoquant les discours et représentations des jeunes filles enfermées. L’exposition rend manifeste untravail de recherche artistique et critique, mené en collaboration avec la chercheuse et curatrice Vanessa Desclaux, commissaire de l’exposition.

La exposición obliga, ellas obstinan, ellas tempêtent reúne el trabajo realizado de 2021 a 2024 por Agnès Geoffray en el contexto de las investigaciones realizadas sobre el encarcelamiento de niñas menores de edad del fin del siglo XIX a mediados del siglo XX en Francia en instituciones públicas y privadas a raíz de una decisión judicial. A través de este nuevo corpus, Agnès Geoffray despliega un trabajo fotográfico y textual que se materializa tanto en impresiones fotográficas de diferentes formatos como en proyecciones de diapositivas. No se trata de obras con vocación documental, sino de ficciones fotográficas destinadas a repensar de manera crítica y sensible las existencias descalificadas de las chicas llamadas "de justicia". En la exposición, estas obras serán puestas en diálogo con documentos históricos -muchos de ellos procedentes de los archivos de la protección judicial de la juventud- que convocan los discursos y representaciones de las jóvenes encerradas. La exposición pone de manifiesto un trabajo de investigación artística y crítica, realizado en colaboración con la investigadora y curadora Vanessa Desclaux, comisaria de la exposición.
