Alberto Giacometti. Die fotografierte Skulptur
Die Ausstellung erforscht die einzigartige Beziehung des Künstlers zur Fotografie. Giacometti praktiziert sie nicht selbst, aber er versteht ihre Bedeutung und wendet sich von Anfang an als Künstler an Fotografen, um sein Werk zu dokumentieren, zu verbreiten und zu teilen. Vor und nach den Ausstellungen ist es das Bild, durch das seine Arbeit zirkuliert. Von den späten 1920er Jahren bis zu seinem Tod faszinierte Giacometti auch die Fotografen als Sujet. Vom surrealistischen Kreis bis zu den größten Persönlichkeiten der humanistischen Fotografie der Nachkriegszeit, alle folgen einander, um ihn allein oder umgeben von seinen Werken im Atelier in der Hippolyte-Maindron-Straße zu verewigen, das zu einem echten Repräsentationsraum wird.
Diese Ausstellung bezieht sich auf den fotografischen Hintergrund der Giacometti-Stiftung und bietet eine reiche Auswahl an Abzügen, darunter zahlreiche Vintage-Fotografien, Zeitschriften und Werke, die vom Künstler aufbewahrt werden. zeigt die Materialität eines Archivs sowie die große Anzahl von Publikationen, die dazu beigetragen haben, das Bild des Künstlers und seines Werkes zu formen.

Alberto Giacometti. The photographed sculpture
The exhibition explores the artist’s unique relationship with photography. Giacometti does not practice it himself but understands its importance, calling upon photographers from the beginning of his career to document, disseminate and share his work. Before and beyond the exhibitions, it is through images that his work circulates. From the late 1920s until his death, Giacometti also fascinated photographers as a subject. From the surrealist circle to the greatest figures of post-war humanist photography, all succeed each other to immortalize him alone or surrounded by his works in the studio on rue Hippolyte Maindron, which becomes a real space for representation.
Drawing on the photographic background of the Giacometti Foundation, this exhibition offers a rich selection of prints including many vintage photographs, magazines and books preserved by the artist, showing the materiality of an archive as well as the large number of publications that have helped shape the image of the artist and his work.

Alberto Giacometti. La scultura fotografata
L'esposizione esplora la relazione singolare che l'artista ha con la fotografia. Giacometti non la pratica di persona, ma ne comprende l'importanza, ricorrendo fin dall'inizio del suo percorso artistico a fotografi per documentare, diffondere e condividere le sue opere. Prima e dopo le esposizioni, è attraverso l'immagine che il suo lavoro circola. Dalla fine degli anni '20 fino alla sua morte, Giacometti affascinò anche i fotografi come soggetti. Dal cerchio surrealista fino alle più grandi figure della fotografia umanistica del dopoguerra, tutti si succedono per immortalarla da soli o circondati dalle sue opere nello studio di rue Hippolyte Maindron, che diventa un vero e proprio spazio di rappresentazione.
Attingendo al fondo fotografico della Fondazione Giacometti, questa esposizione propone una ricca selezione di stampe tra cui numerose fotografie vintage, riviste e opere conservate dall'artista, dando a vedere la materialità di un archivio nonché il gran numero di pubblicazioni che hanno contribuito a plasmare l'immagine dell'artista e della sua opera.

Desde el círculo surrealista hasta las más grandes figuras de la fotografía humanista de la posguerra, todos se suceden para inmortalizarlo solo o rodeado de sus obras en el taller de la calle Hippolyte Maindron, que se convierte en un verdadero espacio de representación.
Aprovechando el fondo fotográfico de la Fundación Giacometti, esta exposición propone una rica selección de impresiones, entre las que se encuentran numerosas fotografías vintage, revistas y obras conservadas por el artista, dando a ver la materialidad de un archivo así como el gran número de publicaciones que han contribuido a dar forma a la imagen del artista y su obra.
