Anlässlich des 200-jährigen Jubiläums der Fotografie lädt das Schloss Asnières dazu ein, das fotografische Werk von Charles und Jules Yvon wiederzuentdecken, das untrennbar mit der einzigartigen Geschichte der Stadt verbunden ist.
Im Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde Asnières-sur-Seine zu einem wichtigen Zentrum der Pariser Kanuindustrie, wo sich moderne sportliche Praktiken und die Flussgeselligkeit entwickelten. In diesem Rahmen konstruieren die Fotografen Charles und Jules Yvon ein originelles Werk, das an der Schnittstelle zwischen der Geschichte der Fotografie und ihrer Leidenschaft für den Wassersport steht. Ihr Engagement auf dem Wasser nährt ihren fotografischen Blick: Das Verständnis der Bewegung, das Experimentieren mit technischen Einschränkungen und die Zusammenarbeit mit den Ruderern werden zur natürlichen Fortsetzung ihrer sportlichen Praxis.
Diese doppelte Aktivität, sowohl künstlerisch als auch sportlich, findet ihren Höhepunkt mit ihrem Sieg in Rotterdam, dem ersten französischen Sieg im Ausland bei allen Sportarten, der die sportliche Dimension ihres Werdegangs unterstreicht und die Stärke dieser gemeinsamen Leidenschaft zwischen Kunst und Sport verdeutlicht.
Durch Fotografien, Originaldokumente und nautische Objekte lädt die Ausstellung dazu ein, Asnières wieder in den Mittelpunkt der Geschichte des Kanu-Sports und des aufstrebenden Sports zu rücken, um zu zeigen, wie dieses Gebiet die Ikonografie der Yvon geprägt hat. die Beziehung zwischen technischer Innovation und Sportkultur zu beleuchten und dem Publikum eine erneuerte Lektüre der Fotografie des 19. On the occasion of the bicentenary of photography, the Château d'Asnières invites to rediscover the photographic work of Charles and Jules Yvon, inseparable from the singular history of the city.
During the 19th century, Asnières-sur-Seine became a major center of Parisian boating, where modern sports practices and river sociabilities developed. It is in this context that the photographers Charles and Jules Yvon build an original work, at the crossroads of the history of photography and their passion for water sports. Their commitment to water feeds their gaze of photographers: understanding movement, experimenting with technical constraints and collaborating with rowers becomes a natural extension of their sports practice.
This double activity, both artistic and athletic, culminated with their victory in Rotterdam, the first French victory abroad in any sport, which highlights the sporting dimension of their career and illustrates the strength of this passion shared between art and sport.
Through photographs, original documents and nautical objects, the exhibition invites us to place Asnières at the heart of the history of canoeing and nascent sport, to show how this territory has shaped the iconography of the Yvon, to shed light on the relationship between technical innovation and sports culture, and to offer the public a renewed reading of 19th century photography.

In occasione del bicentenario della fotografia, il castello di Asnières invita a riscoprire l'opera fotografica di Charles e Jules Yvon, inseparabile dalla storia singolare della città.
Nel corso del XIX secolo, Asnières-sur-Seine divenne un importante centro della canoa parigina, dove si svilupparono le pratiche sportive moderne e le socialità fluviali. È in questo contesto che i fotografi Charles e Jules Yvon costruiscono un'opera originale, al crocevia tra la storia della fotografia e la loro passione per lo sport nautico. Il loro impegno sull'acqua nutre lo sguardo dei fotografi: comprendere il movimento, sperimentare i vincoli tecnici e collaborare con i canottieri diventa un naturale prolungamento della loro pratica sportiva.
