The Music Festival of Aguilar de Campoo is part of the international “Fête de la Musique,” created in France in 1982 and held every year on June 21 in hundreds of cities around the world.
Its aim is to promote music in a different way: on one hand, professional and amateur musicians voluntarily take to the streets; on the other, free concerts are organized, giving the public the opportunity to enjoy performances regardless of style or origin.
The Fiesta de la Música de Aguilar de Campoo (FIMAC) has been held since 2011 and meets all the requirements and principles, as it is officially recognized by the international “Fête de la Musique” platform from France.
FIMAC is organized by the Plataforma de la Música de Aguilar de Campoo, a diverse group of people who voluntarily dedicate their free time to coordinating the various activities that make this magical day possible.
The musicians, bands, and collectives who perform also do so altruistically and receive no financial compensation. Their only motivation is to share their talent and their love of music with everyone.
FIMAC has no budget of its own and is not subsidized. It is made possible thanks to the selfless collaboration of various associations, shops, companies, private individuals, and the support of the Aguilar de Campoo town council.
FIMAC is a day to enjoy music of all styles, with musicians of all ages, in the unique setting of the town of Aguilar de Campoo. It is a day by everyone and for everyone.
