Die Kirche Saint-Clair befindet sich an einer bemerkenswerten Stelle am Rande des Hurepoix-Plateaus und beherrscht so das Yvette-Tal.
Sie wurde bereits im 11. Jahrhundert erwähnt und hat verschiedene Veränderungen erfahren, die Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts ihre heutige Silhouette geprägt haben.
Aufgrund des Willens der Einwohner und der gewählten Vertreter der Gemeinde, die aufgrund zahlreicher architektonischer Probleme von der Zerstörung bedroht war, konnte ihre Eintragung in das Zusatzinventar der historischen Denkmäler und die Durchführung der notwendigen Restaurierungsarbeiten erreicht werden.

Free visit of the Saint-Clair church of Gometz-le-Châtel
The Saint-Clair church occupies a remarkable site, on the edge of the Hurepoix plateau and dominates the Yvette valley.
Cited as early as the eleventh century it has undergone various transformations that, at the beginning of the sixteenth century sounded its current silhouette.
Threatened with destruction due to numerous architectural problems, the will of the inhabitants and elected officials of the municipality made it possible to obtain its inscription in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments and the realization of the necessary restoration works.
Its architecture and church furniture, especially contemporary stained glass windows of the early 21st century and its bell Martinne Classified also worth a visit.

L'église Saint-Clair occupe un site remarquable, à la limite du plateau du Hurepoix et domine ainsi la vallée de l'Yvette.
Citée dès le XIe siècle elle a connu diverses transformations qui, au début du XVIe siècle lui ont sonné sa silhouette actuelle.
Menacée de destruction suite à de nombreux problèmes architecturaux, la volonté des habitants et des élus de la commune a permis d'obtenir son inscription à l'Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques et la réalisation des travaux de restauration nécessaires.
Son architecture et son mobilier d'église, en particulier des vitraux contemporains du début du XXIe siècle et sa cloche Martinne classée également méritent une visite.

Citada desde el siglo XI, ha conocido diversas transformaciones que, a principios del siglo XVI, le han tocado su silueta actual.
Amenazada de destrucción por numerosos problemas arquitectónicos, la voluntad de los habitantes y de los representantes electos del municipio permitió su inscripción en el Inventario Suplementario de Monumentos Históricos y la realización de los trabajos de restauración necesarios.
Su arquitectura y mobiliario de iglesia, en particular las vidrieras contemporáneas de principios del siglo XXI y su campana Martinne también merecen una visita.
