IG Blech
IG Blech Berlin - founded more than 40 years ago from a clash of rumbling jazz, trombone choir and student movement - today is a dozen musicians strong action orchestra on wind and percussion instruments from the piccolo to clarinet, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, tuba to snare-drum and surdo. In demos and concerts, on the street, in flying and fixed buildings IG Blech is a band marching beyond marching music and folklore, playing from the resilient Brazilian samba, to the earthy African groove, from sun-drenched Calypso, to the driving funk, from the merry- melancholic Klezmer music to the fiery Macedonian cocek, raging Neapolitan tarantella and rebellious Algerian rai. This chapel is especially famous for dancing to its own music! (Warning for sensitive souls: "Where elephants dance, the grasses are suffering!"). In a word: HeavyMessingWorldMusic - presented with loudness, humor and a lot of movement on stage, streets and squares.
