Als malerische Stadt hat Caen schon immer Künstler angezogen. Diese Bewegung wurde im 19. Jahrhundert durch englische Maler und Graveure verstärkt. Die vielen lokalen Gelehrten und Antiquitätenhändler spielten auch eine wichtige Rolle bei der Anerkennung des caennaischen Erbes, während die ersten Fotografen die Stadt zu einem Experimentierfeld machten. Der Blick dieser französischen und ausländischen Künstler konzentrierte sich auf einige emblematische Orte und Denkmäler des alten Caen und zeugte von der Modernisierung des Stadtzentrums. Der Besuch ist eine Gelegenheit, einige Werke in der Situation zu sehen. Ein Besuch von Florent Dufour vorgeschlagen.

An eminently picturesque city, Caen has always attracted artists. This movement was accentuated during the 19th century, carried by English painters and engravers. The numerous local scholars and antique dealers also played an important role in the recognition of the Caen heritage while the first photographers made the city a field of experimentation. The eyes of these French and foreign artists focused on some emblematic places and monuments of the old Caen while testifying to the modernization of the city center. The visit is the occasion to find some works in situation. A visit proposed by Florent Dufour.

Città eminentemente pittoresca, Caen ha sempre attirato artisti. Questo movimento si è accentuato nel corso del XIX secolo, portato dai pittori e incisori inglesi. I numerosi studiosi e antiquari locali svolsero anche un ruolo importante nel riconoscimento del patrimonio caennais, mentre i primi fotografi fecero della città un terreno di sperimentazione. Lo sguardo di questi artisti francesi e stranieri si concentrò su alcuni luoghi e monumenti emblematici del vecchio Caen mentre testimoniava la modernizzazione del centro città. La visita è l'occasione per ritrovare alcune opere in situazione. Una visita proposta da Florent Dufour.

Los numerosos eruditos y anticuarios locales desempeñaron también un papel importante en el reconocimiento del patrimonio caennais, mientras que los primeros fotógrafos hicieron de la ciudad un terreno de experimentación. La mirada de estos artistas franceses y extranjeros se centró en algunos lugares y monumentos emblemáticos del viejo Caen, al mismo tiempo que testimoniaba la modernización del centro de la ciudad.
