The museum
The Memorial can be discovered on a self-guided or audio-guided tour in 4 languages (French, English, German, Dutch).
The 1944 Ascq Memorial recalls the massacre of 86 civilians by soldiers of the 12th SS Division Hitlerjugend, on the night of 1 to 2 April 1944.
Installed on the main place of executions, the Ascq 1944 Memorial evokes the event and places it in the history of the Occupation of the North of France.
The Memorial is also a place of reflection on the fate of civilians during the war. He wants to bring a message for peace, tolerance and brotherhood among men.

Le Mémorial Ascq 1944 rappelle le massacre de 86 civils par des soldats de la 12ème division SS Hitlerjugend, dans la nuit du 1er au 2 avril 1944.
Installé sur le lieu principal des exécutions, le Mémorial Ascq 1944 évoque l’événement et le replace dans l'histoire de l'Occupation du Nord de la France.
Le Mémorial est aussi un lieu de réflexion sur le sort des civils pendant la guerre. Il veut porter un message pour la paix, la tolérance et la fraternité entre les hommes.
