Thea Montauti d’Harcourt Lyginos, art advisor and curator, has inaugurated L’Appartement, a new space dedicated to art, located in the heart of Geneva. The gallery’s first exhibition, titled “Sound and Silence”, features 24 works by the renowned Greek artist Takis, most of which come from the prestigious Emfietzoglou Collection, alongside 18 works by the Swiss-Egyptian artist Yves Dana, with several pieces being exhibited for the first time in Geneva.

“Sound and Silence” offers an artistic dialogue between the works of Takis and Yves Dana, two sculptors whose creations reflect opposing philosophies. The exhibition highlights the dichotomy between Takis’s futuristic vision and Dana’s connection to the fundamental principles of natural and earthly energies.

The exhibition poses a thought-provoking question by curator Thea Montauti d’Harcourt Lyginos: how do two artists with such contrasting approaches achieve such harmony together? How does stone sculpture remain modern in a society so focused on constant innovation? This reflection naturally led her to think of Takis. With his tireless fascination for technology and his ongoing exploration of time and space, Takis embodied the essence of modernism. His futuristic vision, merging art and technological elements, blurs the boundaries between these two disciplines.
At L’Appartement, Yves Dana’s “forest of stone” resonates with Takis’s forest of Signals, creating a perfect harmony : between sound and silence.
