A captivating exhibition

The treasures of the heritage libraries of the Muséum - sciences et nature and the Jardin botanique de Bordeaux are on show to the public in a captivating exhibition. A selection of works reveals the wealth of naturalist illustrations.

One exhibition, two venues

The Museum is exhibiting plates organised by discipline, revealing the diversity of nature. On the other side of the Garonne, the Botanical Garden highlights the evolution of illustration techniques towards realism and scientific rigour. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these illustrations raise the question of their status as objects of art or objects of science.
