In Temple-sur-Lot, in Lot-et-Garonne, a hybridizer invented in 1875 the water lilies of colours, a masterpiece of which the painter Claude Monet will make. A 5-minute walk from its nursery, Thierry Huau, scenographer and landscape designer, invites you to discover the fascinating universe of Monsieur Joseph Bory Latour-Marliac, between house and gardens.
For the first time since his death in 1911, his house and garden open to the public in the summer of 2024, the anniversary of the invention of Impressionism, and offer us an amazing initiatory journey. The gardens, walls, mirrors and ceilings will tell you a time when, thanks to industrialization, the birth of color photography and the incredible passion for horticulture, we will witness the emergence of one of the greatest artistic currents in the world, creating masterpieces in painting, literature, but also in music and decorative arts.
