Guided tour of the Bésignoles garden
The garden of Bésignoles is a small corner of exoticism located in Privas in Ardèche. This intimate garden is arranged in a succession of spaces with different immersive atmospheres. The presence of plants from all over the world, as well as the different calades, stone mosaics, ponds, huts, aviaries and greenhouses create an eclectic and exotic universe, an invitation to travel!
So it’s a surprise when you open the blue portal: you’re somewhere else…
Although it is small, this garden hosts a great diversity of plants with a selection of more than 600 different species. Plants with exotic appearances, form a dense vegetation playing on the contrasts and textures of foliage.
The garden of Bésignoles was awarded the second prize Bonpland 2015 by the Société Nationale d'Horticulture de France and the prize "Coup de cœur" by the association Parc et Jardin de Rhône-Alpes in 2015.
Thanks to these awards and numerous publications in the specialized press and television, the garden now has an international reputation. In 2022, part of the JARDIN DE BESIGNOLES was reconstructed during the Kiffissia Gardens Festival in Athens.
The garden is constantly evolving and every year new plantations and new facilities enrich it. In recent years, the garden has even overflowed beyond its walls. The garden of Bésignoles is at the initiative of a citizen approach involving the inhabitants of the neighborhood to transform the street into garden street.
Guided tours are available upon registration from April to October. It is an invitation to discover the amazing universe of the garden and the collective approach of street-garden.
