Guided tour of the gardens at Château des Mêches
Built around 1850 on the model of Italian-style villas in place of a 17th century mansion, the Château des Mèches was commissioned by Charlotte Georgina Smythe wife of the Duke of Caumont from the Force mayor of Créteil between 1846 and 1857. The castle was bought by the State in 1955 to make it the residence of the prefect. Exceptionally open to the public, the castle will unveil its salons d'honneur, its winter garden and its English garden, privileged witnesses of the history of Créteil. A guided tour by Franca Malservisi, architect and doctor in architecture history at the Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement du Val-de-Marne. Only on registration within the limit of available places by mail patrimoine.culturel@ville-creteil.fr or 01 58 43 38 01.
