Brigitte Guillet textile artist, weaves and sculpts with upcycling materials. She likes to combine ancestral tradition and innovation with technical materials, precious yarns, local yarns such as linen and hemp. And as guest artist, Jamel Zeddam sculptor, passionate about natural history.
Brigitte Guillet: "My long journey ar/tistique textile is increasingly at a crossroads. Between creation and design, contemporary art and art crafts. I have always been accompanied, guided by thread and matter. • From theatre to opera, my approach has been to sculpt volumes with fabrics and leather. • Textile, through my expertise in weaving, has imposed itself in my work as a textile designer through modernity and contemporary innovation. I like to coexist in the same work: tradi/on ancestral and innovation with luminescent technical materials. Precious threads, French yarns such as linen and hemp. I take great care in the choice of yarns. I also use for unique pieces the upcycling of recycled plastic yarns and yarns from luxury textile factories. Over the years, I am increasingly learning to listen to my inner compass ... Jamel Zeddam, a sculptor, is passionate about natural history; the Great Gallery of Evolution of the Museum of Natural History often inspired him in the creation of his works. His material is paper ... and his works, here insects, are ... incredible of similarity!
