Jardin forêt de la licorne
Rue du Lohbach 67600 Saverne
The forest garden, also called edible forest or nourishing forest, is a forest ecosystem where trees, climbing plants, annual or biennial vegetables, mushrooms, aromatic and medicinal plants and firewood are mixed.
The aim is to imitate natural forest development by incorporating plant species useful to humans.
The nourishing forest is based on the principles of permaculture, namely the imitation of nature. The human-planted system must respect the same diversity and resilience characteristics as natural ecosystems.
The particular challenge of the garden forest is to feed those who planted it in order to move towards food self-sufficiency.
