The Song of the Palmarium - sound tour
Come and discover the sound creation "the song of the palmarium", and try to identify the sounds of the buffalo toad, the howler monkey, or honeybee... Dating back to 1895, the Palmarium is the oldest greenhouse in the city. It is therefore an opportunity to (re)discover and admire its remarkable botanical collection of plants from tropical rainforests adapted to life in the woods and cultivated by municipal gardeners-botanists throughout the year: lianas, orchids, ferns... The diversity of these plants very present in the tropics is here well represented and enhanced by sound creation, with its three distinct habitats and climates: the high-altitude tropical forest, monsoon areas and the equatorial rainforest. «Le Chant du Palmarium», a proposal of the Jardin des Plantes, sound creation Thomas Cochini from the recordings of Marc Namblard.
