Discovery of the Yongden Garden and vegetable dyeing workshop
It is at the foot of the Cousson mountain in Digne-les-Bains that Alexandra David-Neel designed Samten Dzong, her "residence of reflection", a writer’s house surrounded by a vast garden including a rose garden, a vegetable garden and fruit trees. In 2019, the rose garden and the explorer’s vegetable garden were rehabilitated and, since June 2023, new walking areas are accessible.
During a workshop, dive into the heart of the Yongden Garden and explore its different spaces, while discovering fascinating anecdotes about Alexandra David-Neel and her affection for roses. Then, let your creativity run wild with the artist Irina Irimescu, who will guide you in the art of vegetable dyeing. Use onion peels to create unique eggs that will keep track of the Yongden Garden plants!
