The event "Cantiere aperto" will accompany the public through the Palladian gardens and the historic park of Villa Godi Malinverni, exploring the restoration work currently underway. Some members of the design team of the restoration and enhancement project "The Palladium Gardens" (funded by the funds of the PNRR) will guide the public in the yard, explaining the gardens and the park of yesterday and tomorrow, describing the work in progress and the appearance of the park of the future.

The gardens and the park of Villa Godi-Malinverni (UNESCO heritage since 1996), extend for about 11.00 Ha between the municipalities of Lugo di Vicenza and Fara Vicentino, on the hill of Lonedo. The complex is part of an extraordinary and harmonious landscape thanks to the dialogue with Villa Piovene Porto Godi, another Palladian villa on top of the same hill. The complex, of 1542, is of extraordinary historical and artistic importance as it is the first work of Andrea Palladio. In 1852 the gardens were then joined to the large romantic park designed by the architect and landscape architect Antonio Caregaro Negrin. The plan of the gardens is divided into 4 parts: a front, formed by a hemicycle placed in front of the villa, with oleae fragans centenari and Tuje, stretched out towards the landscape of the foothills; the ancient brolo, now occupied by olive trees, cherry trees and cedars; the ancient vegetable garden, with imposing aucaria and pungent pythaea, surrounded by eighteenth-cen

The park and gardens of Villa Godi Malinverni are easily reached from Vicenza (28 km), Marostica (16 km) and Bassano del Grappa (24 km) along the provincial roads. The nearest toll booths are those of Breganze (SPV) at 7km and Thiene (A31) at 12km that allow a quick connection between the complex and the main regional junctions.
