Walks in Wolf’s Throat - (Weekend of open parks and gardens in Biskupické luh).
Since time immemorial, the Danube has been the creator of the remarkable natural landscape below Bratislava, which, with a little exaggeration, resembles a tropical forest. Despite large human interventions in its structure, even in the upper part Rye Island managed to save at least the remains of a beautiful meadow.
As part of the Weekend of Open Parks and Gardens event, we have prepared a special walk through the territory of the historical Pálffyvská nature reserve Vlčie hrdlo, where you will learn stories from the history of this mysterious corner of Bratislava.
Ivor Švihran, a knowledgeable guide and popularizer of this area, will guide you through Vlčí hrdlí and Biskupický luhmi.
The difficulty of the walk is low, the route is barrier-free.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, May 31 at this time:
Le tour n'est sans pre-registration. Registration takes place upon arrival at the event.
We meet in Vlče hrdlo near the Vlčie hrdlo-záhrady stop (Pálffyho most, line 77), exactly: V. hrdlo, záhrady . . )
If you missed the start and would like to come later, or if you have any other questions, please contact +421 915 501 323.
The entrance fee is voluntary, for example €4.

About the location

BISKUPICKÉ LUHY
Vlčie hrdlo
  • Région de Bratislava
The natural formation of the Danube created a kind of inland delta under Bratislava with a number of islands, the largest of which is Starý Žitný ostrov, Medzičalovie, which became the basis for today's Žitný ostrov. At its northernmost tip, still in the territory of Bratislava, there is an extensive remnant of the original floodplain forest, which today we collectively call Biskupické luhy. It includes the former islands of Vlčie hrdlo, Kopáč, Gajc and Jegeneš, as well as the adjacent settlements of Lieskovec and Ketelec.
