Heritage Agricultural Biodiversity: discovering ancient seeds
At the Hortus Trasimeni will be organized a training day to make known, with practical activities and study, the living plant heritage. Plants are the essential link in the chain of life and for human activities. It is humanity that needs plants to live and not vice versa! The aim of the meeting is to make wild and cultivated, botanical and horticultural plants better known and recognized, and the conditions for their conservation. The reconsociation of the characteristics of these plants also requires a rediscovery of their territory. The horticultural plant patrimony consists of all the plants in all their forms, in isolated or grouped situations, a patrimony to be handed down. We are the heirs of the living plant heritage collected and studied by generations of gardeners, great botanists, farmers and explorers, illustrious growers and hybridizers, from scientific institutions to private enthusiasts. The initiative is aimed at associations, professionals, enthusiasts and nature lovers, adults and children.
