Visit, discovery and activities at the Botanical Garden of Metz
As part of the 18th edition in France and 3rd in Europe, the Jardin Botanique de Metz participates in the Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2021 and invites its visitors to share «the transmission of knowledge» with the many actors passionate about gardens.
The Botanical Garden is a free visit for users who will be able to discover new facilities: return of the mysterious cargo of carnivorous plants, the pollinic path and various educational signs.
Part of the greenhouses will also be accessible.
Visitors will be able to discover a brand new open-concept exhibit, “Plants vs. & Men – Friendly Plants, Enemy Plants” available throughout 2021.
Guided tours are organized with 3 time slots per day, 2 guides per schedule with a gauge of 10 people on reservation to be made at 03 87 55 54 11.
- 10h30 -12h00: Botanical gardens: open-air books (all public, rather adult),
- 14h30-15h15: Story-telling gardens (young audience),
- 17h-18h30: Botanical gardens: open-air books (all public, rather adult).
The themes covered are: human society and the «Journey of plants», the history of botanical gardens and current missions, other curiosities of the garden.

Since the snack bar is under construction, 2 food trucks will be there to offer visitors a small offer of drinks.
To ensure the safety and respect of the instructions, as well as for an optimum reception of visitors, two seasonal mediators will be present throughout the event. The team of gardeners of the garden will also be present to ensure the guided visits, the cleaning of the spaces and complete the mediation of proximity.
