The new interpretation center, inaugurated in 2018, invites you to discover the ways of building and living on the island of Oléron, from yesterday to tomorrow. Young and old, touch the architecture with your fingertips with models and materials library! Videos, sound testimonies and playful animations will immerse you in the world of the old Olerona villages and eco-hamlets of the 21st century.
Continue your visit outside! Stroll in the garden and stroll around the farm oleronaise. Composed of a dwelling house, barns and cellars, it illustrates the daily life of the islanders in the nineteenth century. The buildings are rehabilitated thanks to participatory construction sites, which allow to learn traditional know-how and eco-materials.
Educational course and playbooks for young people.
Practical courses on eco-materials, guided walks in the heart of the village, workshops for children and families, conferences, events: ask for the program!
