Der vom CAUE von Puy-de-Dôme initiierte Kurwanderweg ermöglicht es dem jungen Publikum, die außergewöhnliche bauliche Umgebung der Kurstadt Royat-Chamalières zu entdecken, wiederzuentdecken und sich wieder in ihren Bann zu ziehen. Le sentier des curistes initié par le CAUE du Puy-de-Dôme permet au jeune public de découvrir, redécouvrir et se réapproprier le cadre bâti exceptionnel de la cité thermale de Royat-Chamalières. Le sentier des curistes, véritable balade à remonter le temps est une invitation, l’occasion faite à l’usager de se réapproprier l’espace urbain et les éléments qui jalonnaient la journée des curistes.
Le patrimoine thermal que l’on observe fait souvent écho à un passé prestigieux, alors que de nombreux témoignages, des petits éléments du quotidien, disparaissent. Ce parcours offre un condensé d’architecture du 19eme pour en faire émerger une lecture adaptée au jeune public. C’est également le moyen d’inventorier les éléments qui font sens avec le lieu, le parcours de l’eau, l’arborescence du végétal avec parc thermal et jardins, le rôle fédérateur des espaces publics, l’architecture « prodigieuse » et celle plus « ordinaire », qui fondent et structurent la Cité Thermale de Royat-Chamalières.
