Architect by training and anarchist by vocation, Jean-Luc Johannet (Blois, 1951) Moves away from functionalism very early to a Irregular and organic architecture.
From his “fight for freedom of form” a work is born visionary where the boundaries between sculpture and architecture, reality and utopia, blur. Although very prolific, his work remains largely in the state of drawings or models, for lack of sponsors.
However, from the years 1980, Johannet decides to become his own worker to make his first architecture-sculpture at scale 1: the "Euphoric Bird", which with its 17-meter wingspan will amaze the inhabitants of Blois, then those of Lausanne. It will be only the beginning of a series of works unusual.
This documentary aims to show the genesis of Jean-Luc Johannet’s work and immerse ourselves in his singular approach.
