The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tours becomes the theatre of a unique encounter between contemporary, classical dances and museum collections. This project proposes to set in motion the abundant life of different paintings and sculptures, to explore their themes and aesthetics.
Through a series of immersive performances, the dancers, led by Lola Magreau-Mariez and Louise-Anne Delvert, will be inspired by the museum’s works to share their dance practices. The audience will be invited to a sensory journey, where movement is embodied in gesture but also in emotion, and where immobile figures are incarnated.
Conceived as an artistic detour punctuated by happenings, this event transforms the museum’s rooms into scenic spaces, promoting a new perception of places and works. This project celebrates the interdisciplinary and universal power of art in all its forms.
Join us for an unprecedented experience where dance and art history meet in a sensitive spirit of sharing.

The oldest collection consists of works seized in 1794 in the churches and convents of Tours and the surrounding area, in particular in the abbeys of Marmoutier, La Riche and Bourgueil, as well as in the castles of Chanteloup and Richelieu. Officially created in 1801, the museum benefits from the sending by the Central Museum, the future Louvre Museum, of thirty pa
