Folie Wazemmes is a multidisciplinary cultural facility of the City of Lille, born on the occasion of Lille 2004 – European Capital of Culture. A remnant of Lille’s workers' heritage, this former spinning mill was rehabilitated by architect Lars Spuybroek (Agence Nox/ Netherlands). Since 2005, Folie Wazemmes has been offering shows (dance, theatre, performances, cabarets, etc.), concerts, exhibitions and workshops on artistic practices. It is recognized throughout the region for its support of artists and creation. It implements a cultural action work towards the inhabitants and is concerned to support projects led by the living forces of its neighborhood. In April 2018, the fair was created, a citizen and artistic space to share every afternoon, from Wednesday to Sunday. This new project is born from the desire to share daily moments with the neighbors of the house Folie Wazemmes.
