At the heart of the city of Montbéliard, the castle raises itself(draws itself up) on a rocky spur which dominates the confluence of Lizaine and of Allan. This building(ship) is during the four centuries, from 1397 till 1793, the residence of the dukes of Wurtemberg. In 1960, the castle becomes a museum grouping(including) archaeological collections, natural history and Fine Arts. and developing since 1970 a collection of contemporary art. Many temporary exhibitions(exposures) bound(connected) to the different departments of the museum supplement the discovery of this site. The castle shelters the museum which redraws the history(story) of the country of Montbéliard since prehistoric times(weathers) until our days.
