Anatole, Guernouillard and the dreadful Lucquet dance to the rhythm of the music around the mills! The most seasoned visitors can even try to carry a giant!

About the location

Musée des Moulins - Jean Bruggeman
Rue Albert Samain 59650 Villeneuve d'Ascq
  • Nord
  • Hauts-de-France
With its two iconic winged giants of Villeneuve d'Ascq, the Musée des Moulins-Jean Bruggeman invites you to discover a remarkable heritage.
Near the lakes, visit two exceptional mills with intact mechanics! Placed on its brick base and with 26 m wingspan (the largest in France), the oil mill of 1743 is the only mill in the world in working order.
Behind, the flour mill built in Bambecque in 1776\. The mill still has a pair of wheels and a working bluterie and can make flour!
In the museum, discover the history of the flour mill since antiquity. A unique collection of tools and machines presents the trades associated with the mills: carpenter, grinder, etc. Virtual reality headsets allow a 360° tour of the flour mill in operation.
