Les Belles Sorties - The good song! - Lannoy

Proposed by the Lille Opera

«The good song». This title, found by Verlaine for a collection of poetry, and borrowed by Fauré for a cycle of melodies, perfectly summarizes the spirit of the program proposed by the choir of the Opera of Lille. The good song is the one that rocked us, the one that accompanied our evenings, our moments of celebration as melancholy…
French song has always had a strong link with the words it sets to music. Whether it is popular, traditional or «classical», its emotional strength is universal, it is the singing in the service of the text. What could be more direct and intimate than the voice? The voice sung of course, because the music brings «words» that even the most wonderful poetry can only partially render.
It is therefore a journey to the heart of this «good song» that we propose. In chorus of course, but also in vocal quartet, and solo; with piano, but also by offering our multi-faceted artists to sing accompanied by their instruments!
The «classical» French melody will of course be present but the journey will be marked by great hits of the «pop» French song, traditional songs, «tubes» of the renaissance, and modern discoveries.
