Choir of the Opéra de Lille Orchestre National de Lille
This year again, the Orchestre National de Lille and the Opéra de Lille worked together on two works from the opera repertoire. A great classic of the opera bouffe opens the ball with Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, adapted from the work of Beaumarchais. Fantasy and facetiousness are the key words of this version signed Jean-François Sivadier who declines with delight the comic score in all its forms. On the program, Espagnolades and misunderstandings of all kinds will punctuate some of the most brilliant tunes of Rossini’s repertoire. From the opening to the cavatine of Figaro, without forgetting the vocal fireworks «Una voce poco fa», so many tunes at the origin of the triumphant success of this masterpiece passed to posterity.
