While more than two billion tons of household waste are produced on our planet every year, two hundred families in the city of Roubaix have set out to reduce their waste production as much as possible. Sort, avoid waste, prolong the life of objects... In one of the poorest cities in France, these families will quickly realize that behind this waste reduction affair is something else… Over the days, they resume the thread of a social life, get involved in the life of their city, feel pride. And it’s their whole life that finds meaning. In a light and humorous tone, this film questions our consumption patterns. What if reducing waste was an anti-crisis solution? And the renewal of a form of citizenship? More broadly, it questions our ability to build another world tomorrow, more respectful and more human.
