Here are two sons who did not do what they were asked: one had to dance like his parents, the other to find a real job. They’re still hiding to smoke. Israel is fifty years old, Mohamed not far away. From their two names side by side, one would expect shouts and fury.
There will be nothing in this show but irony and reunion. Flamenco for the first, documentary theatre for the second, Spain and France: everything seems to separate them. Yet they searched their family archives, compared their wounds, found that they were somewhat the same child in different latitudes. Between declaration of love, settling accounts, press conference and flamenco concert, each one ventures modestly into the territory of the other. Mohamed will end up dancing, Israel speaking.

Voilà deux fils qui n’ont pas fait ce qu’on leur demandait : l’un devait danser comme ses parents, l’autre trouver un vrai métier. Ils se cachent encore pour fumer. Israel a cinquante ans passés, Mohamed pas loin. De leurs deux prénoms côte à côte, on attendrait cris et fureur.
Il ne sera question dans ce spectacle que d’ironie et de retrouvailles. Flamenco pour le premier, théâtre documentaire pour le second, l'Espagne et la France : tout semble les séparer. Ils ont pourtant fouillé leurs archives familiales, comparé leurs blessures, découvert qu’ils étaient un peu le même enfant sous des latitudes différentes. Entre déclaration d’amour, règlement de comptes, conférence de presse et concert de flamenco, chacun s’aventure pudiquement sur le territoire de l’autre. Mohamed finira par danser, Israel par prendre la parole.

Hier zijn twee zonen die niet deden wat hen werd gevraagd te doen: De ene moest dansen zoals zijn ouders, de andere moest een echte baan vinden. Ze verbergen zich nog steeds voor rook. Israël is vijftig jaar voorbij, Mohamed niet ver. Van hun twee namen naast elkaar, zou men schreeuwen en woede verwachten.
In deze show zal er alleen maar een kwestie van ironie en reünie zijn. Flamenco voor het eerste, documentaire theater voor het tweede, Spanje en Frankrijk: Alles lijkt hen te scheiden. Toch doorzochten ze hun familie archieven, vergeleken hun verwondingen, ontdekten ze dat ze in verschillende breedtes ongeveer hetzelfde kind waren. Tussen liefdesverklaring, afrekening, persconferentie en flamencoconcert, onderneemt ieder bescheiden het grondgebied van de ander. Mohamed zal uiteindelijk dansen, Israël zal spreken.
