Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains Le Fresnoy - Studio national des arts contemporains is a school attracting students from all over the world, an institution open to all (exhibitions, cinema, events), an institution dedicated to creation and innovation and a place of exchange with the largest regional, national and international institutions.
Le Fresnoy is located in an emblematic building built in 1905, and which was until 1977 a place of popular entertainment that marked many Tours. The French-American architect Bernard Tschumi is at the origin of the rehabilitation of this place which he transformed into a true masterpiece of contemporary architecture where are offered to the public throughout the year major exhibitions of contemporary art, a programme of films in both art-house cinemas, activities for children, conferences, shows, concerts…
Film set, mixing studio, recording studio, photographic laboratory… The creative spaces used for the production of films and digital installations produced at Le Fresnoy are exceptionally accessible to the public during the European Heritage Days. These works are presented each year at an event called Panorama. This year, Panorama 25 will be presented to the public from September 22, 2023 to January 7, 2024.
