Guided tour: «The Castella of Labarre in music»
For the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2024 the members of the association of the friends of Castella de Labarre will welcome visitors and visitors to the site of Castella in Labarre on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September.
On Saturday the members of the association will ensure three commented visits of the site, one in the morning at 10:30 and the other two in the afternoon, at 14:30 and then at 16:00. Visitors will be expected on the site of the Castella for the beginning of the visits. Refreshments will be offered to the present.
The next day Sunday several activities will be provided on the site. Visits first will be proposed, as well as the day before. But these visits will begin, for those who wish it, with a discovery, or rediscovery, of a part of the road of the rock of Labarre which is not usually presented by the members of the association. Visits will therefore be longer, start earlier and end later.
Thus the morning tour will start from the bridge over the Alses to Labarre at 10am and will end around noon at the bridge over the Alses. One of the association’s members will guide visitors along the route. On the site of Castella around 11am a musical interlude will be played by Sophie Boudier and Antoine Cochet - The Croco boots, songs with little onions - for the visitors who will have followed this visit.
In the same spirit, in the afternoon a visit will be launched from the bridge over the Alses at 2pm. This visit will be even longer than the morning because interspersed with several musical interludes played on the site of Castella. The return to the bridge over the Alses should be ensured around 5:30 pm.
During the afternoon, those who wish could of course go directly to the Castella site to enjoy the musical interludes offered, and incidentally the guided tour of the site.
Will occur in the afternoon
- At 2:30 pm, Pascale Respaud who will tell tales first and then at 3 pm the members of the choir she leads who will sing Occitan songs
- At 3:45 p.m., Les hautbois d’Ariège, which will perform medieval music, then Jean-Michel Maury and company, who will play several compositions and arrangements by the same Jean-Michel Maury
- At 4:30 pm, the band Zinga-Zanga will play traditional music.
While waiting for musical interventions the members of the association of the friends of the Castella de Labarre will provide brief presentations of unusual parts of the site, usually not presented.
On Sundays, people who would like to eat at midday on the Castella site with the members of the association. The principle of sharing food and drinks will be appropriate.
