Built from 1931 to 1934 in a working-class district south of Troyes, Notre-Dame-des-Trévois is one of the fifteen parish churches built, mainly in France and the Netherlands, by the architect and Benedictine monk Dom Bellot, whose work is largely part of the movement of liturgical and religious renewal between the two wars.
Responding perfectly, with its open-plan interior space, to the new requirements of its function and liturgical program, an absolute architectural coherence and a remarkable quality of execution due to a very careful implementation of its almost exclusive construction material, the brick, the church is also distinguished by an astonishing originality, to which contributes the permanent concern for detail and the search for effects of polychromy.
The building is built on a plan in the shape of a Latin cross, extended by a polygonal apse with five sides. Its facade is adorned with a statue of Notre-Dame-des-Trévois, sculpted by Henri Charlier.
