Establishment of the City of Nantes, the Conservatoire de Nantes is a specialized institution of art teaching music, dance, drama. It is classified as "Conservatoire à rayonnement régional" (CRR) and welcomes about 1800 students coming mainly from the Pays de la Loire and Brittany regions, but also from the whole of France. In line with the main themes of the City of Nantes' cultural policy, the Conservatoire is pursuing a dynamic of openness towards new audiences, educational innovation, creation and local, national and international influence.
