Guided tour: June 1786, Louis XVI in Normandy
Louis XVI, a trip to Normandy
From 21 to 29 June 1786, for the first time since his advent, Louis XVI left the Court, for Cherbourg, a trip advised by his minister Calonne.
This trip, which, on his return, will take him through Le Havre and Yvetot, will profoundly mark Louis XVI, according to his ministers.
Imagine that, on June 28, 1786, on the way from Le Havre to Yvetot, the King stopped for a visit to the Chateau de Saint Eustache, to Antoine Eustache de Vaucair, Master of Petitions in the Parliament of Rouen...
It is around this trip that the visit of this historic monument is designed this year.
The reception rooms will be exceptionally open for a guided tour.
You can then walk freely through the gardens and visit the chapel. Fast food is available on site.
