About the location

The first plans of the building were drawn in 1913 by the architect of the Imperial Post, Ernst Haacke. Built in 1918, the site was used by the Reichpost and then taken over by the French Post Office after the war. The body was destroyed during the Second World War, but was never rebuilt.
This neo-baroque style building influenced by neo-regionalism was rehabilitated in 2014 by a Mulhouse architectural firm (DRLW), to accommodate the Regional Council’s Southern Alsace territorial agency.
