On the occasion of the World CleanUp Day, the Department of Archaeology and Heritage and Planet Actions welcome you to the outskirts of the Lantern of Augustus. You will be able to update your knowledge on the Roman port and participate in a citizen cleaning.

This small regular construction typical of Roman times was built on the southern quay of the port, on the basis of a massive base surmounted by a full hexagonal structure and crowned with an equally hexagonal arrow. This monument, whose height is 11 meters, was probably built at the time of the extension of the port and then served as a bitter allowing navigation and an aid to the entrance to the port . The Roman port is classified as a Historical Monument (order of July 12, 1886).
