Vesprade in the Provençal language
Vesprade, faithfully organized by Jaques Blanc the vesprade this year will celebrate Marcel Bonnet. He is a French poet and scholar of Provençal expression, born in Saint Rémy de Provence on August 26, 1922 and died in the same city on June 25, 2007. He was raised by his mother and maternal grandfather who introduced him to the Provençal language. From his youth he became involved in the defence of the Provençal language and began to write. He joined the félibrige quickly, met Mas – Felipe Delavouët (already celebrated by the association INDEX in 2021) he is close to Marie Mauron. He published his poems in his review Marsyas, collected under the title of «l'Aigo e l'oumbro», poems that earned him the Frédéric Mistral prize in 1960, the year of their publication. He collaborates with many magazines: L'Armana Prouvençau, Marsyas, l'Armana di Felibre, Fe, L'Astrado. He chaired the Provençal association Saint-Rémoise l'Escolo dis Aupiho until 2002. He has also produced many books in French about his city and region. He was a knight of the National Order of Merit and an officer of the Academic Palms. His works will be read by Roussetains.
