Palace of the Counts of Provence, built in the 12th century, with continuous renovations until the 20th century and by turns courthouse, prison, meeting place of the Parliament of Provence between 1416 and 1631, school in the 16th century, Prefecture from 1795 to 1798 and in the 19th century, Sub-prefecture from 1840 to 1920, Red Cross dispensary from 1927 to 1945... It was in this castle that Louis of Anjou, canonized in 1317, son of Charles II and Marie of Hungary, died on 19 August 1297\. A few days before his son died, on 31 July 1297, Charles II signed an ordinance in which he laid down the foundations of what was to become the Court of Auditors.
