The church of the old town of Saint-Sulpice opens exceptionally on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September 2023 as part of the European Heritage Days.
Rare witness of an era that was prosperous in our territory, this church, classified historical monument, is famous for its rich painted decor dating from the Middle Ages.
Visit for guided tours on:
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September: 14h, 15h30 and 17h
No advance reservations – subject to availability.
Duration: 1h15

The church of the old town of Saint-Sulpice-des-Landes has been listed as a historical monument since 1977 and was acquired by the Department in 1979\. Built in the 15th century, this exceptional building houses wall paintings that illustrate the life of Christ. The quality of these frescoes testifies to the know-how of the artists of the medieval period.

The church of the old town is located on the D878\. Coming from Ancenis, follow the direction of St-Mars-la-Jaille then La Chapelle-Glain. Coming from Châteaubriant: D163 towards the Chapelle-Glain, then D878 towards St-Mars-la-Jaille.
