The castle of Roche-Noyant (ISMH) was built from 1785 to 1788 in the style of the Enlightenment by Louis de Dieusie, guillotined shortly after in 1794. Candé’s family made it their residence from 1804 until the 1970s and embellished the property with a park and pretty outbuildings (ISMH) typical of the Segréen.
