Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wählte der deutsche Stab den Hafen von Saint-Nazaire als Unterschlupf für seine U-Boote. Zwischen 1941 und 1943 errichtete er eine Betonfestung mit 14 Hohlräumen, die das Gesicht der Stadt und des Hafens grundlegend veränderte.

During the Second World War, the German staff chose the port of Saint-Nazaire as a shelter for its submarines. Between 1941 and 1943, he built a 14-cell concrete fortress that profoundly changed the face of the city and the port.

Durante la seconda guerra mondiale, lo stato maggiore tedesco scelse il porto di Saint-Nazaire come rifugio per i suoi sottomarini. Tra il 1941 e il 1943 costruì una fortezza di cemento di 14 alveoli che modificò profondamente il volto della città e del porto.

Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el Estado Mayor alemán eligió el puerto de Saint-Nazaire como refugio para sus submarinos. Entre 1941 y 1943, construyó una fortaleza de hormigón de 14 alvéolos que modificará profundamente el rostro de la ciudad y del puerto.
